PIA | Pagbilao power plant plans to add 400 megawatts power supply

LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Sept. 23 (PIA) -- The Team Energy Corporation (TEC)-Pagbilao power plant is planning an additional 400 megawatts production to its power supply to meet the rising demand of electricity needed to energize the country.

Greg Romualdez, head, external affairs of TEC, said they are set to construct another facility for their expansion plan inside the current power plant facility in barangay Pulo in Pagbilao town.

"We informed the provincial government of Quezon about the expansion plan of Pagbilao power plant as TEC's response to address the country’s power shortage. That's why we presented ourselves voluntarily to the members of Sangguniang Panglalawigan to show our expansion program," Romualdez said.

Romualdez told the board members that the 400- megawatt expansion plan of the power plant will generate a much higher tax revenue for Quezon Province as it will be run thru a new privatized scheme.

He added that the same environmental standards will be strictly complied with in the new power facility.

Currently, the Pagbilao power plant is operating by 730-megawatt coal-fired. (PIA-Quezon)
