ATI 4A train farmer leaders, agriculture workers on cacao production and processing


LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Aug. 22 (PIA) –The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) 4A held a two-day training on cacao production and processing for farmer leaders and agriculture workers coming from the five municipalities in the province.

About 20 farmer leaders and agricultural workers from the municipalities of Lopez, Unisan, Tagkawayan, Atimonan, and Real participated in the training held Aug. 5-6, 2013 at Queen Margaret Hotel, this city.

Mariel Celeste C. Dayanghirang of ATI-4A said the training is the first to be offered in Quezon Province in line with cacao production and processing.

Leonellie Dimalaluan, representative from the office of the provincial agriculturist provided inputs on the cacao industry situationer in Quezon.

Experts served as resource speakers during the training included Daisynette Manalo from the Department of Agriculture; Cristy Goma, Sierralyn Sandoval and Joy Siaga of the office of the provincial agriculturist of Laguna.

Dayanghirang said the participants felt the need to unite and form as a group to avail the necessary support services from public and private sector.

The training, according to Dayanghirang, also served as a venue for the participants to establish linkages with one another. (CPGonzaga, PIA4A with report from ATI4A)
